Painting on railway bridge of local character "Pom"

The Rogues Gallery, painting of local character, “Pom”.

  • The very first silo art in Queensland! The "Watering Hole" mural covers four, 30 metre high silos and was painted by Brisbane artists Travis Vinson "Drapl" and Joe Fergie "The Zookeeper" in 2017. The images are significant to the area and are best viewed from the designated viewing platform.

  • The Sculpture trail references locals from Thallon’s early pioneering history and was produced by award winning artist Dion Cross. The four sculptures are a baker, blacksmith, fettlers and school teacher with student and are located in Hill and William Street.

  • The Rogues Gallery is a gift of paintings of local characters from the silo artists - Travis Vinson "Drapl" & Joel Fergie "The Zookeeper" - and can be found on the railway bridge on the Moonie River. We ask that you walk or cycle to see the Rogues to protect the beautiful Riverine environment (ask at the Information Station or Hotel for directions).

  • William the Wombat was built to acknowledge Thallon’s historical connection to Northern Hairy Nosed Wombats and to educate the public about the plight of this critically endangered species (with only 400 left on earth). William was built in 2017 and is 3.5m long and 2m high. He has rock climbing niches to encourage people to climb him.

  • The Old Bullamon Homestead was constructed on the Moonie River in the 1850s and is an important relic of early European settlement in the district. Tours available by prior arrangement only. Phone Jo 0409 593 897.
